It’s the final week of Series 25’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges in Forza Horizon 5, so we can only hope that the series goes out with a bang and not a whimper. As we all gird our collective loins for the imminent dawning of Series 26, I’m here to bring you the tunes and cars that I hope will help you finish strong and make sure you get all the rewards you can. Although I’m currently sat on 26 Super Wheelspins, so a different prize would be great!
Let’s see what Spring has blown into Mexico, shall we. Oh, and it’s apparently the hot season, so bring the sunscreen.
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Conquer Every Corner
The weekly challenge car this week is about as different from last week as it can be, being a little hot hatch. Yes, we need to use a Renault Megane Rs from 2018 to complete the weekly challenges this week, and it is already winning over last week, mostly because no one can see your shopping!
If you don’t have one in your garage, grab it from the Autoshow. It’s cheap enough.
Chapter 1 – That’s Hot
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete! (Make sure it’s yellow, yeah?)
Chapter 2 – Sharing is Caring.
Can you get two stars at the Pequeno Puente speed trap? You’d best hope so, as this step needs us to do just that. That’s 110mph, in case you were wondering!
Chapter 3 – Track Ready
Next step is to win a road circuit race.
Pick your best and let rip! I’m still in stock trim, by the way…
Chapter 4 – Get to Grips
As this car apparently doesn’t need a rear spoiler due to its diffuser, we need to earn 6 stars at speed zones. Yep, makes sense to me too.
Just choose your best and give it a whirl.
And with that, the weekly car challenge is complete, and we’re picking up another five points for the reward cars on offer in Series 25.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
With that out of the way, let’s have a look at what new delights await us on the playlist this week. The Eventlab is back up to full strength again, requiring us to complete three of them this week, as well as the usual bevy of PR Stunts and races.
Let’s have a peep at what is in store.
The Trial – Cut to the Chase
We need a German car this week, and a tuning limit of A Class 800.
It has to be a BMW, doesn’t it? And of those, I think my favourite is still the M3 GTR, as made famous in Need For Speed Most Wanted. The share code for mine is : 198385025.
Please people, remember this is a co-op race. I lost last week after a “teammate” decided the best way to get around a corner was to smash into me when I was in third, ruining both our chances. Let’s be nice to each other!
Should we manage to win two out of three races, a lovely Porsche 911 GT2 RS is ours.
Eventlab 1 – DEXTER4130D Presents – Stadium Supercross
So what has Spring brought out of the old Eventlab closet?
We need an A Class 800 Unlimited Offroad car or a buggy, and as always, it’s the Jeep Trailcat that gets the nod.The share code for mine is :118411445.
A fun layout overall, with narrow sections making overtaking tricky, but I enjoyed this one.
The prize for completing this race is a new car, the Rivian R15.
Eventlab 2 – XRCOSWORTH01 Presents White Sands Full Circuit
For this Eventlab, we need to use an Extreme Track Toy class vehicle, tuned up to S2 CLass 998. I went for the Bugatti Divo, with share code : 169915677.
This is a crazily technical track, with tight bends, and the Divo hated it – getting up to 190mph on the straight before having to brake for a hairpin? Madness.
But there’s a prize on offer for completion – a new emote, Surf’s Up!
Eventlab 3 – SCUBADUBBA6524 Presents Atlantes De Tula Road Circuit
We need to utilise a Retro Supercar, tuned to A Class 800 for this Eventlab, and so it was time for the Lamborghini Countach, with share code : 797737461.
This is a fast and fluid track that is fun to drive around, and the choice of car fits it really well.
The prize for winning is a Super Wheelspin
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Zone – La Silica
This week the tuning limit for these events is S1 Class 900, and the car must be a Dodge Viper. From 2008 I’m still not sure about these events needing a single vehicle type to be honest…
Obviously, the guess work of which car to use has been removed, and the share code for my Viper is a mystery, but look for share name “Srt10” and my GT, Red620Ti, to get the car.
We need to speed through at an average 120 mph, which is also known as “a lot”. Some nasty bends make this a challenge, but try to cut as much as you can.
We get a Super Wheelspin in return though. It’ll do. It can be added to the rest of those I’ve got sitting in the bank.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Mountain Pass
The target this time is 130 mph, and the choice of car is still restricted – so I used the car from above.
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
PR Stunt 3 -Speed Zone – Rio Fuerte
Another speed zone to go at, and this time we need to score over 120 mph on average.
Yet another Super Wheelspin to add to the pile. How many of these are we having?
Seasonal Championship 1 – Trail Happy
Tuning Limit of A Class 800 this week, and the category is “All-Weather Warriors”.
This is not a class, as far as I can tell in the game, and so the choice was a Jeep Trailcat from above – the share code is still : 118411445.
For winning outright solo, or best two out of three in a convoy, we can take home a VW Type 2 bus.
Seasonal Championship 2 – Rearing to Go
The class this time is B 700, and the restriction is RWD only – Guess we’ll be going everywhere sideways!
I went with a Honda S2000 from 2003 and the share code is unavailable, mainly because I always make my cars AWD! Look for S2k in conjunction with my GT, Red620Ti.
We can walk away with another prize for winning, a BMW M5 from 2018.
Horizon Tour – Co-op Championships
We have to do a Horizon Tour this week, which is always fun.
For those of you who have been living under a Mexican rock, we have three races against AI Driverbots, and two point to point races against our team mates to complete. Once done, it is again time to profit!
Oh, and I can’t recommend a car, as it can be any class at all, so just do your best.
Profit to the tune of three whole points, that is..
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week.
There’s the Photo Challenge, and that’s it! Appears we are going out with a whimper after all…
Photo Challenge – #Flutterspeed
Another pun? We need to take a Ford Gt to the start of the Puerta Petrea Trailblazer, and take a picture of it with some butterflies.
I’ll post the location and my artistic effort below. Let me know what you think. You STILL love the dinosaur suit, right?
The reward? A new Forzalink phrase, “Is this a pigeon?”. Having trouble thinking when would be the correct time to use it, to be honest!
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Forest Escape
This week, we are limited to a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR from ‘99, and a limit of A Class 800. I made the following in an attempt to do this – share name is EVO99 with my GT, Red620Ti.
We have to hit over 250 m from the jump to come out on top.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward. Yes, you read that right – Another Super Wheelspin.
Seasonal Championship – There Goes My Hero
It is time for an SUV Hero this week, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. I went with my go to vehicle, a Bentley Bentayga, and the share code is : 118484657.
As always with this car, I recommend the front bumper cam so we don’t have to look at it.
Completing the championship will get us a Unimog, assuming we win of course.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Dunes
Same car, same event – jump over 160 m this time to win.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin.
Seasonal Championship – Track Ready
This time we need an S1 Class Track Toy for this series, and of the choice on offer, you’ll not be shocked to hear, I went with a Porsche 911 GT2 Rs from 2012, and the share code 129256081.
For winning out, we can take away an Audi TT RS.
With Series 25 coming to an end you should have enough for the Series reward motors – they are a BMW 850CSi for 80 points, a new car to the game, and for 160 pts it is a Porsche 911C2 GW, a hard to find set of wheels. You should get your hands on the last car this week if you’ve been following my handy top tips.
If you need a few extra points to get you over the line, the monthly Rivals challenges are here; two featuring EVs and two featuring good old internal combustion. These are, for EV’s – Baja California Trail and Herencia Cross Country Circuit. For those cars with proper engines, they are – Lookout Circuit and Ruta Norte. 4 points are on offer if you return clean laps for each one, so worth having a go at!
Grab enough points and Series 25 Spring will also see you gifted with the exclusive BMW i4‘22 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Porsche 550, a hard to find car apparently.
Next up, Series 26. Or maybe even the newly rebooted Forza Motorsport. Let us know if you’ll be moving from open world to track racing by dropping into the comments.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes, and good luck in Series 26.The theme for Series 26 is going to be “Dia de Muertos”, and hopefully your Spanish is better than mine as I have not a scooby what that is…
