If you like to hark back to the good old days of retro turn-based games, Ã la Final Fantasy, look no further than Sea of Stars. Developed by Sabotage Studio, Sea of Stars will have you gleefully tearing apart colourful pixelated enemies with aplomb. And it’s on Game Pass, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC today.
Get Your Timing Right!
In this adventure that is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC, you’ll guide two Children of the Solstice as they seek to defeat the evil Fleshmancer.
This treacherous alchemist has developed minions that can only be taken out by Eclipse Magic. Luckily, then, our duo can perform such skills by combining their powers of the sun and the moon!
As well as the standard turn-based combat, pressing the action button in time with your attack animations will both buff your damage output, and also reduce any damage coming your way. It’s a clever way of ensuring you are alert at all times, especially when performing devastating multi-character moves.
Swingin’ Seas
In a diversion from the typical, frankly dull, tile-based way of navigating around a fantasy turn-based adventure, Sea of Stars does things differently. Your party will be merrily swinging, vaulting and climbing around the shop, making their way to all manner of different areas.
Sometimes a break is in order, however, and it just so happens that fishing and board-game playing are popular past-times in this universe. Why not give these mini-games a go?
Now Available!
Sea of Stars is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. Check it out for £29.99 via the Xbox Store. You can make the most of Game Pass if you would prefer too.
We will have our review for Sea of Stars on Xbox up soon!
