It’s long been rumoured but finally Ubisoft’s subscription service has gone live on Xbox, with Ubisoft+ working through Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Coming about via the Ubisoft+ multi-platform model, Ubisoft+ Multi Access, players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S can now join their cousins on PC through Ubisoft Connect and Amazon Luna as they get involved with a growing library of Ubisoft titles.
Promising to include the latest releases on Day One, bringing together DLC, classic games and a 10% discount on an in-game currency, Ubisoft+ could well be seen as a big deal in console land, working similar vibes to Xbox Game Pass and EA Play.
From today subscribers will be able to link their Xbox account to Ubisoft+ Multi Access and have access to premium editions of upcoming releases (where available), as well as a host of the most beloved games from Ubisoft’s catalogue. That means you should be seeing access to the likes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Far Cry 6, and more. For us, we’re heading straight to Anno 1800.
And yes, cross-progression will be enabled for a select number of titles too.
“Partnering with Xbox to launch Ubisoft+ Multi Access on Xbox consoles enhances our subscription offering to provide more value and choice to our players”, said Chris Early, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at Ubisoft. “Xbox console players can now have unbridled access to discover our worlds through Ubisoft’s extensive game library.”
“Like us, Ubisoft strives to bring more games to more people, and today we’re accelerating that effort together”, said Sarah Bond, Corporate Vice President of Creator Experience and Ecosystem at Microsoft. “By launching Ubisoft+ on Xbox, we’re presenting Xbox console players another vibrant catalogue to explore by subscription.”
A subscription to Ubisoft+ on Xbox will set you back £14.99 a month, and that brings with it more than 100 games on PC, access to those premium editions, that 10% discount and more. For us though, it’s the ‘selected game’ on Xbox that will be of interest – with some 60+ currently showing on the list. This is likely to increase massively as time progresses. Alternatively, you could always get on board with the £12.99 PC only access.
