Ever wanted to expand the story of the seminal classic Pong? No?! We can’t blame you – it doesn’t seem like there was a huge amount of backstory behind the tennis-like title. However, Atari believes there is a tale to tell, with qomp2.
This is the sequel to 2021’s indie game qomp, and challenges you to escape the world of Pong, controlling the humble white ball.
Challenging Levels
Partnering up with Graphite Labs, Atari are bringing this game to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, mobile and the Atari VCS. Broken free from its hell between two paddles, your goal is to guide the Pong ball through a variety of hazardous levels. With a number of ‘harder than they look’ challenges, each level will contain a number of spikes, enemies and other obstacles.
With simple controls, each tap of the action button will change your direction by 45 degrees; hold the button to quickly dash forward. It’s simple stuff, meaning that your reflexes are the ones truly tested!

And don’t worry, death is not the end in this arcade-inspired world. Quick respawn makes sure you’re back in the action in seconds.
- Bountiful Bosses: Four bosses block your escape at the end of each world. Use your newfound skills to master their attacks and defenses in order to move on. Much like a real game of Pong, you must be prepared to defend your position!

qomp2 will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch, PC, mobile platforms and Atari VCS. Check it out on the Xbox Store.
